Thanksgiving Tradition

My Husband and I married in 1997 and started a Tradition for the 9 years that we were in California after marrying (I am from California) that we would invite the single sailors, sailors with no local family to our home for Thanksgiving dinner as well as Family. Which meant we had Thanksgiving dinner in shifts to feed the Single Sailors and 3 times in the day. It was always a Fabulous Time and I missed it when we moved overseas.
While we lived in Japan we always sought out the home cooking of the Officers Club during the Holidays, mainly for the convenience and wide variety of foods offered during the holidays. We did this for 7 years.
When we moved to Florida 5 years ago, we had to adjust to actually cooking our Thanksgiving Meal ourselves (again) and loved having our Family around to enjoy as well. My tradition since re-establishing our Thanksgiving is not making a favorite dish (all my friends and relatives have that covered), mine is finding something new to make. I never do a test run, most of the time what I make is average-fabulous there have been a couple times where I didn't like it at all. LOL.. Since living here I realized it really is my tradition. Here is a quick recipe for Brussel Sprouts I made last year by Ina Garten, I always add my own touches to a recipe as well, like tossing in bacon bits, bacon is delicious!
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Cut off the ends of the Brussels sprouts and pull off any yellow outer leaves.
Mix them in a bowl with the olive oil, salt, and lemon-pepper seasoning.
Transfer them to a sheet pan and roast for 35 to 40 minutes, until crisp outside and tender inside.
Shake the pan from time to time to brown the Brussels sprouts evenly.
Sprinkle with more kosher salt (I like these salty like French fries), if you like, and serve hot.
What is your Tradition? Do you have a dish you are known for?
